Format of the Under 8's development League
Purpose
Managers, parents and spectators are reminded that the purpose of the Under 8 development league is to encourage as many players as possible of all abilities to begin to learn to play football in a freindly and supportive enviornment.
Format of matches
Games shall be 20 minutes each way. Managers may agree to slightly extend the half time interval to allow a short period of coaching. The official score of the match shall be recorded as that reached at the end of the second 20 minute period. Managers may also mutually agree to play an additional and informal short period of play to allow as many players as possible to experience team football.
A Supporting Enviornment
Managers of teams which are clearly stronger than the opposition (EG winning by 4 goals) are encouraged to invite the manager of the opposition to enter one more additional player. Such a sporting gesture shall be reported infoormally to the referee.
Recording of results
No Under 8 League table will be published. Results will be recorded by the league. These will be used to grade teams when they reach under 9 level. Each team will be provided with a supply of commemorative medals at the end of the season to reward the contribution and effort of every player.
FIXTURES
At present we have experianced a few issues with transportation to and from games. Can all parents please help out and ensure that all children are taken home safely at the end of each game, and especially when we are playing away. Your help is always greatly appreciated.
Also will parents please make sure that their child is dressed for the cold winter weather and is wearing warm, waterproof clothing, for periods of the game when they are not involved. Can you also make sure that shin pads are worn.

Next year we are planning to create two teams to be entered within the Newcastle Mini Soccers under 8 development league. Therefore we are after players from any ability to participate within two under 8 teams and we still require players to play for our Under 9's team for next season.
Therefore if you are currently in year 1 (6 years of age at present), you will be legible to play within our new under 7 development team for next season. We still require players from year 2 and over. Contact Andrew on 07949 350202 for more details.
